The Next Chapter of My Business - And Why I’m So Fired Up
Take a peek behind the curtain of my business to see what I've been quietly building
I know it’s cool to be grinding. But last year, I quietly took a big step back from my business.
As a family, we had a lot going on. We moved from the city to the suburbs. Then had another baby. And for the first time since starting my business, I took my foot off the gas to prioritize other things.
Work took a backseat to my life.
That felt really beautiful and healthy. But if I’m honest, part of me was itching to get back into builder mode. I love this work, I really do. I’ve built a business that gives me a creative outlet, allows me to impact people in fulfilling ways, and supports my family. When I started this journey, that’s exactly what I wanted.
But like any growth leader, I’m always thinking about the next win. The thing that breaks through the plateau.
And I think I’ve found it.
The frustrating pattern I can’t ignore
I’ve been running my coaching practice for almost 4 years now - and I’ve seen the same pattern play out again and again.
Smart talented leaders that live and breathe growth. People who’ve taken Reforge programs, follow Elena on Linkedin, read Ben’s newsletter, and watch SaaS conference videos on YouTube.
They know which playbooks will help them grow faster and move the needle - but aren’t able to have the influence and impact they want because they’re not able to implement their ideas.
The blockers are everywhere.
Sometimes it’s because they can’t communicate their ideas in ways their execs understand. Other times, they struggle to acquire the resources they need (and instead scope to the resources available).
Some get into turf wars and are blocked by another team lead. Or maybe, their team just isn’t executing at a high-level and they can’t seem to figure out why. Regardless of the exact details, the frustration is real.
And then they log into LinkedIn, where every other post is a “win” story.
Some shiny, oversimplified narrative like: “We changed 1 simple thing and our activation rate jumped 30% overnight.”
No one talks about the messy reality of working on a growth team.
The part where you have to make concessions, and your strategy gets watered down, and then another team deprioritizes your work.
Most growth educational programs don’t solve this.
They teach you the frameworks and playbooks to solve growth challenges. And they totally gloss over the part where you need to:
Convince your boss your ideas are worth doing.
Pitch the same idea in six different meetings.
Backchannel support from other team leads.
Convince your team to try new stuff.
Create a culture of experimentation.
Influence without authority.
Negotiate for resources.
The result is a community of people who are frustrated, stuck, and quietly nervous about losing their jobs. And in many cases, they're right to worry - because turnover for growth roles is so high.
But what I've realized, is that these are operational challenges that can be fixed with the right systems.
I think I’ve found my next big unlock.
I’ve been quietly building a new program behind the scenes to solve this problem.
One that could help hundreds of growth leaders level up - and unlock a way of running their growth team that feels more strategic, more sustainable, and more successful.
It’s called The Growth Operating System.
It’s the exact plug-and-play system that I used when leading growth at Wistia and Postscript - and have installed with dozens of other growth operators in my coaching practice to transform you from an overwhelmed player-coach to a respected strategic lead - without burning out or feeling like an imposter.
It’s for high-performing ICs who’ve recently started leading growth teams - and realizing how wildly different the job actually is.
One coaching client put it best:
“I got promoted because I could outwork everyone and held myself accountable. But now, I’m in 23 meetings a week, I still have my own IC work, my execs are pushing back on my ideas, and my team is asking me a million questions. I’m overwhelmed!”
That hit me. Because it’s not a time management issue - or a lack of strategic ideas - it’s a systems problem.
And most new growth leads are never taught how to solve that.
They know what to do. But they haven’t learned how to get it done - without getting into the weeds or working around the clock. And that gap? It’s the thing holding back a ton of talented people right now. It’s also where I’ve seen the biggest breakthroughs in my coaching work.
This is the problem The Growth OS is built to solve.
It gives growth leaders the structure they need to run their team - without needing to be in every detail. Because once you build the right systems, the whole game changes.
And that’s what I want to help more people do.
The shift I’m making in my business
After 500+ coaching calls, I noticed I was repeating different flavors of the same conversations to help talented growth leaders navigate these challenges.
That’s when it clicked.
If I could package those same systems into a program, I could help way more people, without needing to be on more Zoom calls.
I love 1:1 coaching, but there’s a limit to how many clients I can support at any one time. And I hear from folks who want my help, but can’t afford my 1:1 rates.
This 1:many program will be a major part of my next chapter.
It will be a mix of videos, text, and exercises to work through the 10 most common operational challenges growth leaders experience today. It’s more scalable. More accessible. And more sustainable - for me and for the people I want to serve.
And selfishly? It gets me fired up again.
It’s a chance to help more people level up, while growing my business in the process.
Why I’m so fired up:
I’ve been heads-down building this program for the past few weeks.
Any spare minute is getting spent creating this curriculum. I still have a ton of work to do, but this is starting to feel like the most impactful work of my career.
I know, firsthand, how hard this job can be. I’ve seen too many smart, capable leaders burn out before they really hit their stride. And I want to change that.
My hope is the Growth OS helps growth leads get out of the weeds and unlock more impact and influence - without losing sleep or working every weekend.
If you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed in your growth role - I made this for you.
For years, I’ve helped high-volume SaaS businesses build scalable systems - and now I’m finally building one for my own.
