After working on/ around SaaS growth teams for the past 7 years, it's become pretty clear to me - nobody has it "all figured out.”.
We're all constantly learning, making mistakes, and dealing with difficult situations. There's nothing easy about leading cross-functional growth teams.
Running tests isn't easy.
Getting resources isn't easy.
Driving towards results isn't easy.
Creating a culture of experimentation isn't easy.
Staying aligned with cross-functional stakeholders isn't easy.
Drawing lines between growth, marketing, and product teams isn't easy.
And making sure everyone knows what growth is, what you're working on, and why (while still doing the work and sharing learnings) - definitely isn't easy.
My personal journey hasn't been easy either. It's full of self-doubt and times when I felt like I had no idea what I was doing. But I found ways to keep going. Not because it got easier. But because I fell in love with the work and I couldn't picture doing anything else! Once I learned about the world of product-led growth, there was nothing I'd rather do.
